how the it industry affects us (good and the bad)

The most common health issues when using mobile devices is cancer. Mobile phone masts transmit data at much faster rates since 2012. A new technology called LTE was introduced last year. EE were the first provider in the UK which launched its 4g service this time last year. In August this year Vodafone and O2 launched their 4g services. Then this month the 3 network.

Teenagers and most adults will sleep with their mobile phone next to them. Whilst the mobile phone is transmitting the human body is exposed to these radio waves. Some people also live very close to a mobile phone mast. The same issue arises here.

Eye strain is mostly the health issue for younger\older teens and some young adults. They can be looking at a screen for a long period of time whilst playing games and browsing their favourite sites.

Another important thing that affects our use every day with computers, tablets and mobile phones is viruses. Viruses are infected files that are placed on websites so when the user reaches the page a virus will automatically be downloaded to the device the webpage is being viewed on.

These files can tamper with the performance of the device and may damage it. These type of files are mainly placed on websites that display adult related content, because the user wouldn't go to the police and explain about the viruses without telling where they got the virus from!

Hacking is one of the most common things you will come across in everyday life. Lots of people have jail broken iPhones and rooted Android devices. This allows the user to modify how the mobile operating system works. From here they can overclock the processor and highly customise the user interface.

If you have an android device you can install a custom rom like cyanogen mod. People like to do this because they either have bloat ware on their phone that is stopping them from downloading the latest  versions of android. Users have to wait until the manufacturer pushes out the update if they have a phone with skins and modifications eg. HTC Sense and TouchWiz.
